Hi lovely friends, I know it has been a while since I hop in here to post something, and if you know me, you'll know how badly I feel for not posting consistently.
I wrote this blog post to share with you my experience with social distance and how it has impacted me as well as what you can do during a time like this to grow your business.
How many of you are practicing social distancing and how many of you are going about with your schedule like you normally would? How serious are you taking this and how has this impacted your business in the last few days/weeks? I know there are tons of questions that I can go on asking, but these are the top questions I see most business owners struggle with during this pandemic.
The Coronavirus is real, and believe it or not, it's not only impacting business owners but EVERYONE. This virus doesn't care about your age, gender, race, or color, if you catch it, you have it! Which is why it should be taken seriously.
Because this is such a serious matter to so many of you including myself, it was hard for me to see many of my fempreneur friends' struggles. Whether it's fear of being afraid of the unknown, overwhelmed with adapting to a new schedule, or confused of what they can do to help or move forward with the current situation, this all leads to feeling uncertainty of what to do next in their business and often leads to anxiety.
Whatever current situation you are facing from wherever you are, just know, everything is FIGUREOUTABLE! I hope you and your loved ones are safe. If you are wondering how I'm doing, my little family and I are doing well. Currently, my daughter's school is closed until further notice, lucky for me, I work from home so this provides the flexibility that we need to watch the kids at home. All of our upcoming activities have been canceled so we will be homebound for the next 4-6 weeks or until further notice.
Spending more time at home in the last couple of days has really opened my eyes to a lot of things.
I'm grateful to be able to have these extra times with the kids. Last week has been a challenge as we're all trying to adapt to our new schedule, but getting more time with them was also very much needed for me. There were happy moments and at time emotional ones (#MompreneurStruggles), but during these times spent with them it has reminded me why I started my business.
Watching my kids interact with each other and showing their love for one another, I felt so much guilt of wishing I had started my business sooner and it got me teary eyes. I've come so far to forgive myself and let go of the past, yet it was still a touchy subject but that is a story for another day.
Most introverts would be happy to hear of "social distancing", however, I got to admit I was a little sad to hear of this. I have to canceled all my plans with friends and family who I loved and adore so much. Not to mention, after working from home for a few months now can feel a little lonely sometimes.
Do you agree?
What did you do during this "social distance" time that you have?
Below were my top 3 things that I've been practicing during social distancing, they are in no particular order:
Listen to more podcast (Lately, I've been pull toward manifestation and positive mindset so all week long I've been listening to Kathrin Zenkina from the Manifestation Babe Podcast - If you've not heard of her, she is full of knowledge in her area of specialty and I love how it's not just business or personal focus, you can benefit for both).
Revisit a hobby I missed - My iPad has been sitting on my desk collecting dust and to be honest, I forgot about it for quite some time now, so I took it back out, during nights that I just can't sleep, I pull it out to sketch. Recently, a friend of mine requested me to draw a picture of a woman for her, so I'm very excited about this, it'll push me to get back into figure drawing which I'm always so intrigued by whenever I see people draw.
Hypnosis, Subliminal, and Meditation - I LOVE IT! I don't know why it took me this long to discover it but it has changed my life. I've heard of it for a while and practice it once or twice but it hasn't become a habit yet. One of my goals in the next few weeks is to start these practices and make it a habit. For those who have never done it, I highly recommend you to start looking into what they are and try at least one of them out for the experience. Those who are practicing currently, I'm so inspired by you. This has helped me over some so many fear of doubt, anxiety (yes, I get them too), and stress. It also helps with a positive mindset. There are many podcasts and gurus who offer these and it is very beneficial for growth both personal and business.
This whole week, I've been focusing on these consistently and I will say that the result I got out of it has been a game changer. It has helped me find clarity and keep me grounded during a time like this. It inspired me so much that's why I'm writing this blog. I want to help you!
Are you feeling stuck? Uncertain of how to help your business during social distancing?
I created a list of ideas that I hope it'll help spark a fire in you to start. During a time like this when you are most vulnerable and feeling helpless, one of the best things you can do for your business is invest in it. It could cost you as low as $0 to as high as whatever you want it to be. We're not sure how long social distance will be here for, but to keep yourself from catching the virus or spreading it, you can help by starting to work from home if your job allows you to, and limiting your social outing if it's not necessary.
By being home more now, you can work on your business, this would be a good time to re-evaluate where you are with your business, and see what you can do going forward to grow your business and continue serving those who believe in you.
If there were time and time again that you wanted to start something, a project, or a habit, this would be a great time! Below are some ideas I've came up with that I know myself have been thinking about for a long time but I just haven't found the time to do so. Well, no more excuses because now is the time!
